Nancy's Legacy

On December 1, 2018, Bill Edwards received the University of California, Irvine Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders (UCI MIND) annual Leadership Award for 'visionary leadership and dedication to Alzheimer's disease research'.

Nancy was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's at 57 at the UCI MIND clinic in 2003. In recent years, Bill has been active in advocating for the superb research being done at UCI MIND to find both a cause and cure for Alzheimer's disease. "UCI MIND's clinicians and research scientists have exhibited an immense dedication to finding a cure for this horrible disease. It is an honor to receive this award and to know the UCI MIND Team. Nancy believed deeply in what UCI MIND stands for and the institute's value to the community." Bill Edwards, Nancy's husband.

UCI MIND recently began monthly 'Ask The Doc' webinars on Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia which can be viewed at the following link:

The Nancy Imlay Edwards Foundation

After 30 years of physical therapy practice and health care management – much of it in geriatric medicine practice and volunteering her practical health care knowledge when we lived in other countries – Nancy Edwards was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in her 50s. Nancy passed away on March 22, 2015 after suffering from this horrible disease for 12 years.

Nancy’s life was focused on others and on giving far more than she took.

The purpose of the 501 (c) (3) Nancy Imlay Edwards Foundation is helping find a cure for Alzheimer’s for others.
Donations to this foundation are tax deductible.
