On December 1, 2018, Bill Edwards received the University of California, Irvine Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders (UCI MIND) annual Leadership Award for 'visionary leadership and dedication to Alzheimer's disease research'.
Nancy was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's at 57 at the UCI MIND clinic in 2003. In recent years, Bill has been active in advocating for the superb research being done at UCI MIND to find both a cause and cure for Alzheimer's disease. "UCI MIND's clinicians and research scientists have exhibited an immense dedication to finding a cure for this horrible disease. It is an honor to receive this award and to know the UCI MIND Team. Nancy believed deeply in what UCI MIND stands for and the institute's value to the community." Bill Edwards, Nancy's husband.
